Stag Attention Stag Lovers.....

Not bad, but there do seem to be some indiscretions.

A/C has been removed; vacuum reservoir is disconnected; but vacuum-operated heater valve seems to still be in place ... which probably means the heater doesn't work either. (Not that you'd need it in FL.)

Clearly repainted from it's original Mallard Blue ... they could have at least painted the underside of the hood!

Cam covers have been repainted, and apparently put back on the wrong sides.

Looks to be a motor-type aftermarket fuel pump, with a pressure regulator mounted where the fuel filter should be. The inertia switch seems to be missing, too.

Boot boards are missing of course, as are the rare Stag side emblems (only found on US-spec Stags).

Package shelf is missing, so is windshield washer bottle.

"Newer" softop has rear window damage (from improper storage?) plus what looks like a tear over the driver's door.

And no overdrive :frown:

I would love to have the franchise for the shiny spray that all of these sellers use on everything from tires to vinyl and even on the paint sometimes.

 Yeah, I noticed that too, Paul! Everything laying out in the yard from a car that's been "sitting twenty years" is all shiny, as is the car. Maybe they pressure wash with baby oil! Still, if I had bottomless pockets and a BIG garage I'd be tempted to have a look....

Don't forget to mention the HUGE DENT front and center just in front of the hood!

MAYBE the cam covers were designed for the "down-under" market??

"Shiney-Stuff" does seem to sell better.....
It is amazing how many P.O.S. cars w a new paint job & some generously applied ArmorAll sell on eBay! :wall:

"Cheers!"

Hey, Kevin....I never said this thing was really pristine, just that it was available for those die hard Stag fans

:iagree:I stand corrected!

Not a really bad STAG. AT LEAST it still retains the original engine!

(Oh God! Now I'll start a whole new discussion on the merits of swapping engines in a Stag.... What was I thinking?!?) :wall:

I almost bought a Stag a few years back... Appeared to be an EXTREMELY clean & well maintained car. I passed on it for a variety of reasons (location, repainted different color, etc.). Like the cars though (even with their mixed reputation for lack of reliability...). Probably will pick one up one day! :hammer:

"Cheers!"

I'd still like to have a TR8 convertible over the Stag, but that's sure to start another battle, so what was I thinking?????

That's a pretty good deal. The ebay car has been bouncing around like a TJ whore for quite a while. Stags are cool.
