I need to replace the ignition switch. So I try to remove the facia around the steering wheel. I notice it's a little tougher than I thought. Well...
1. After about 5 hours of attempts I remove the steering wheel by using Break Free, a gear puller and a mallet turned up to 11. Wheel finally came off.
2. removed two screws and facia still won't come off. Noticed There is another screw that needs to come off, but it is blocked by the dash. Tried removing the bolts supporting the steering wheel to see if that helps (it didn't).
3. Noticed Tach, Fuel, and turn signals no longer work, so I assume I damaged the green wire somewhere along the line.
Question- Do I really have to take the dash off to get the facia aroung the steering column off? I hoping someone can point out just how stupid I am, but I just don't see how it can come off without removing those screws.
Please let the shaming begin. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
