attaching the bonnet

on my 1970 midget, the bonnet is off the car for prep and primer, It was removed by the DPO, and I do not know where the bolts are to reattach to the firewall. No the bolts are not screwed into the firewall. Can anybody tell me what size the 8 bolts used to attach the bonnet to the firewall are.? There is a fastener store locally that I can probably get new ones at. Thanks

They are either Fine thread SAE 5/16 or 1/4 inch.

I am pretty sure they are the 5/16ths.

thanks Patrick, and it is 4 per side correct?

But How long should they be, 1 inch ??

They are 1/4" fine thread. They are 3/4" long, but the hardware store will probably only have 1". Be sure to get flat washers and lock washers.

And yes, you will need eight.
