TR4/4A Attaching headlight trim ring

How does the headlight trim ring get attached at the top? I see the attachment tab/receiver at the bottom (roughly 5 o’clock), but I can’t figure out what holds on the top of the ring. I did a forum search, but I couldn’t find a description of the top attachment. I’m sure I’m missing something obvious.

thanks

The top edge of the bucket should have an area that sticks out a bit. Then the lip on the ring fits over it.

This is a 3A bucket, the bulb carrier is probably a bit different but the bucket should be similar.

On the last set I got, the lip on the ring was a bit too large for it to fit properly, so I had to grind off a bit in the vicinity of the adjuster.

Here's another view that might make it clearer

OK, another TR3A headlight snap on rim question, why is this so difficult!
Anyway my question is does the tab and ring go go between the bucket and the gasket or does the tab go in front of the bucket and the rim hooks over the bucket,
A couple of photos attached, if it goes in front looks like the tab should be bent forward to get some room for the rim to go over the bucket.
These are new headlight kits from Moss replacing mismatched worn out lights.
Cheers,
Colin

On the originals, there is a cutout in the edge of the bucket, where that tab fits. The photo I posted above shows the gap, here is what the tab looks like with the ring installed

I'm not sure I see that gap in your photo. If it's missing, you might be able to add it; or return the parts to Moss.
