Hi all,
I am enjoying the miles on my recently completed TR4A. This weekend I replaced the heater valve with the four seasons valve, hopefully a robust solution. With the top up, my interior can get stiflingly hot - not bad for a heater core and fan that probably has not run in 20-odd years, if not longer (Texas car).
Which brings me to my question: how does the convertible top attach to the bows?
On the TR4A there is a strip of material that hangs down at the second from front bow. On the TR6, this is either riveted (earlier models) or snapped to the bow. (The TR6 has a second flap near the rear window, this is not present on the TR4A.)
On the 4A, is this flap riveted, snapped, or …? to the bow? I’m not sure it is needed, as the rod does not flap at speed. But the flap hangs there, begging me to do something with it!
