there is a 1/4" hole on the bottom of the frame and a slightly larger one at the very front. Poked a screwdriver in the holes on the passenger side and a fair bit of sand came out! Do all 3's have these holes and what was the purpose? Seems to me sand and water can get in there which is condusive to rust. Probably not as bad as when the front upper fender seal rots and fills that cavity with a couple pounds of sand as I discovered many years ago.
Dosn't look like an issue on the drivers side frame because the area is well oiled by the leaking steering box.:friendly_wink: Should these holes be plugged or is it a non issue as the car is 60 years old and the frame there hasn't rotted yet.
