At the Foreign Auto Processing Center in Port Newark

When we were picking up the Super 7 at the Port Newark docks last week, we saw a fair number of interesting vehicles.

The most popular seems to be old Land Rovers.....there were at least 6 of them there.

Also, there were some Euro-spec Porsches and BMWs waiting to be picked up (one of them, a 3 Series, was painted up like a BMW "art car").

There was also cars going out (to Europe) for export. Including several 2012-2013 Corvettes. And some old classics such as a VW convertible, a '67 Dodge wagon and an 80s GM wagon (a Chevelle, I think).

The 2013 Corvette parked next to us was going to Sweden. It was used and the stevedore told me it would bring around $100,000 over there (I guess it's a supply/demand thing since this car was probably worth about $50,000 or $60,000 here).

There was also a number of "normal" cars that diplomats, corporate transfers and military people were having shipped in or out of the US.

Wish I'd taken more photos but we were freezing after digging out the car and hand-winching it onto the trailer.

Fascinating - I hang out at the retrorides as well and it astonishes me how many cars that we wouldn't really give a second glance to here are cool in the UK - big old caprices and 5th Avenues and old chevy cans.
