Asking here too - removing headlight trim rings?

I think everybody is asleep in the MG forum...
When you have good old chrome headlight trim rings on bad old fenders, how do you get the rings off without damage?
These haven't been off the car in about 39 years.
Obviously a tip is needed here /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

The headlight bowl has 3 places on where the ring catches. I would be afraid to use anything but fingers to get them off. You need to press on them and kind of egg shape on section to grt it off and then it should come loose.

Thanks Kim, these feel like they are cemented on.
Must be all the years of muck that have accumulated in there.
So smacking it with something isn't a good idea? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

They bend kind of easy. But are a pressure fit.

Thanks guys, with deft application of screwdriver and hammer I got one to pop right off.
It's very helpful to have some idea about what is under there when you go to applying the screwdriver & hammer - your input here was very helpful.
