For all you cable/satellite viewers out there I found this at https://www.historychannel.com

I haven't seen the other episodes so I have no idea what it's like but the subject appears promising.

Host Josh Hancock rides along with L.A.'s KCAL-9 Helicopter Pilot Larry Welk as the "eye in the sky" helps motorists, pedestrians, law enforcement, and rescue personnel. And, with his unique ability to match a car's personality to that of its owner, Josh stuns parking-lot crowds by guessing people's cars; he takes viewers on a historic tour through the world of Old Movie Cars; and studies the history of the Jaguar. And, a soccer mom gets to trade-in her minivan for an Austin Powers-like Shaguar! TV G

It turned out to be mostly fluff. It was mildly entertaining but not up to the History Channel's usual standards. I wouldn't say you missed much.

The historical stuff on Jaguar was only a few seconds long and totally lacking in depth. The part where they exchanged the soccer mom's Suburban for the XK8 "Shaguar" for a couple of days was kind'a cute.

I can't say I'm very impressed with a car show host who can't pronounce Porsche correctly. The Porsche owner he interviewed couldn't either.

Tonight's PBS show on the first transcontinental drive looks vastly more promising:

I’ll tape the PBS trans-USA show…it looks like it will be good.

I’m looking forward to the SpeedTV SCCA Runoffs (they actually ran in Sept) coming up in Nov. It looks like it will be much better than the usual SpeedTV fare. Here’s the SCCA-blurb on the Runoffs shows.

“Speed Channel will be broadcast each of the 24 SCCA National Championship races in unique, one-hour television shows beginning in November. Once all 24 shows have premiered, Speed Channel will again air the SCCA “Runoffs Marathon” on December 25, Christmas Day, with all 24 races running back-to-back for 24 hours.”

One of my friends ran the Runoffs in GP (a Honda CRX). Unfortunately, 2 blown pistons dropped him to 29 th place (out of about 42 cars). He’s following me in this picture.
