It keeps gettin' bumped for weather.

Looks like a "GO!" now.

BAH!! No-go.

FINALLY!!!

YAY!

Well, Huntsville is watching every issue with the Aries....NASA up here has lots of dollars & jobs hinging on it.

Am I right in thinking 445 mil. for a two minute blast?

Somewhere around that.

watching the liftoff just didn't intrigue me as watching the shuttle....luckily the goals grasp my imagination...

ANY time one of those things gets flung up to escape velocity my jaw drops.

Wasn't that thing taller than the Statue of Liberty?

One of its parachutes failed & it bent on impact with the water.

Still, a wealth of telemetry.

I'm all for space exploration, I love the idea of it and follow and enjoy the programs on TV when they are aired, but to me, a 2 min. 445 million dollar burn in todays economy is a little much. A lot of people in need could be helped with that kind of money and it's needless to say, there are a lot of people in that category. We, the more fortunate ones, who still have our homes and a few jingles in our pockets, with a future that doesn't look so grim, seem to be a little less sensitive on the subject. I'm sorry for running off, please excuse, I just get a little over the top on things like this, when I know we have children suffering out there from lack of food and medical help. Sorry, I'll say no more. PJ

Around here (Huntsville area where the Ares was developed), it's all about jobs!
