Are these wheels any good?

Moss has the least expensive "Minilite Style" Sport Wheels on sale. I would like to get some better and nicer wheels for my Bugeye and these appear to be a good deal. If anyone has experience with these wheels, please advise me. Are these wheels a good choice?
Thanks,
Charlie

I have the Moss ones and love them!! I have heard that there are better wheels for comparable prices. (Like the ones Hap has.)Don't know why they are better? If Hap says they are better and worth the price, I would go with what he suggests.

I think they are equally round, but the polished edges on the superlites look a little better.

The picture of the Superlites on Hap's web site look more polished than the Moss wheels. The price is close. I am going to try to get a better picture of each.

The edges of the superlites are turned and polished. I like the center area and the contour of how the "spokes" connect on the minators better, but overall I prefer the superlite wheels. You might ask Hap if he is including lug nuts as well.

Was the price comparable to Moss'?

The price is quite comparable; you can see current prices at:

For another photo of an actual wheel received in my order:

This photo is from the Parts page under the "Spridget Project" link on my web site https://www.raysmg.com.

Hope this helps,

Ray

They look really good Ray, send em on down.

155/80/13's is a popular size.

I'm also running BFG's! But get the wide white walls, they add extra flavor! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

Dang, everytime, I don't visit this place for a few days, I miss out on some good stuff and this is first thread I came to, I'm sure I going to find more good stuff I've missed out on. Been working on British Car Club stuff, stuff this is my year to the president thing, so more piled on the wagon /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Superlites vs Minitors (the Moss wheel), first off they are both good wheels, under normal pricing we are useally just a tick under Minitors, but we do have a slight price increase in 2008 that will put us slightly above them or about the same. Ok with that said and me trying my best to open minded as a I can being a Superlite dealer, here's my opinion FWIW. I think the Suprlite is a better looking wheel, in it's casting, it's paint (alot shinier than Minitor) and the machined or often referred to as polished outer rim edges. I think the Superlite is more of a Panasport quality wheel at a Minitor price, which in my opinion, makes it a great value. We're a little low on stock right now, but a big container is at seas now comng from Austraila, and we'll be fully stocked agin by mid Jan. so if anyone orders from before 2008 and I don't have it in stock, I honor 2007 prices when the shipment comes in and hold the tranaction until then as well. Ok here's a bit more passionate response, if you ask me with Moss' sale right now, is Superlites worth $16 more a set, I'll answer with a big old fat heck yes! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

OH thank guys for the kind responses, Im glad you're enjoying ther wheels, after all that why we all do this stuff, to smiles on our faces /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Hi Ray
sorry been busy, Christmas family stuff and now off to Mexico City, Tuesday, home Friday for another busy weekend.

The rims are 13/ 5.5 4 inch back spacing. They almost rubbed on the leaf spring so i purcahsed some wheel spacers for the rear from winners circle. Could have used narrow tires but I like the wide look, of course only to tires.
The tires are P175/70/SR13 BF Goodrich. Seem to ride Ok.
200o miles and sofar good. They really are great rims, every time I sneak a late night look at my girl those rims bring a smile. I must be sick...lots of snow on the ground but I just had to go 50 miles today,a bit cold in the cabin.
Cheers Phil

The KN Minataur (Moss) are 5" wide and the the rear spacing dim. is 3.750" ,they don't offer a 5.5 in the 4" bolt circle.

Shipping might be a factor....Moss charges by the $$ amount of the order.....not by the dim weight or shipping weight.
