Are these Healey 100 King Pins?

Hi All
Have been rebuilding my steering and suspension and needed to replace my king pins. Problem is, now I have started to put things back together i find that my new pins will not fit. The bottom of the pin with the bore for the screwed fulcrum is larger and fouls the brake drum back plate see pic 1. This could be fixed by grinding back the edge of the forging.
More importantly the bore for the screwed bush is approximately 8mm lower on the new pin (pic 2). I'm not sure what effect this will have on the steering geometry. The machined part of the pin above the screwed bush bore is identical to the old one. The offset of the bore centre to the centre line of the pin is also the same.
Of course your all wondering why I don't just take the pins back to the supplier. Reason is i'm down here in New Zealand and I bought the parts from one of the larger suppliers in the US (came in a box labeled made in England). It took a good few months to get them here in the first place and I have had new bushes machined in my stub axles to suit. So I would prefer to use what I have.
So my questions are:
1. Do you think the new pins are Austin Healey 100 pins.
2. Will the 8mm difference have any real effect on the setup.

Thanks in advance for your comments

I believe that all Big Healeys used the same pins. To verify, the top pin OD should be 0.686" & the bottom OD should be 0.811".

The 8mm difference should have little affect.

The casting could be ground for clearance.

I'm really surprised that yours are not closer to original. Wouldn't cost much to contact the supplier with your question. Probably the box was "made in England" who knows about it's contents.

Hi Dave, Shaft measurements are spot on to your figures. Do you think I need to do anything different when i set the height of the suspension. From what I remember I need to put a 1 inch block under the damper while I tighten everything up. Should I make any allowance for the extra 8mm between the top and bottom trunnions?
Thanks

Dougal,
Do the pins have a part number stamped on them?. ie 1B 4331 (BSF), 1G 4345 (UNF), might be a difference in the pins between the early 4 stud and the later 5 stud

Hi Zblu
Yep Healey Factory are great, I have had good service from them in the past. This time round I was playing $ exchange rates. Looks like it may have been false economy.
No part numbers on old or new pins..
