MGB Are my wheels too far gone?

Offline
Ok. The wheels have been sitting with no tires on them for 7 years. Outside. In the dirt. Obviously very rusty. I soaked one in diluted vinegar for a week to remove the rust. This is what I have. Very deep pitting where they were in contact with the ground. Are they too far gone? What do ya'll think? PhotoGrid_1480880522169.jpg

Kenny, what ever you do, do not use those wheels, they are trash! Life is too short to put it on the edge of disaster. JMHO. PJ

I sent you a PM Marv.

I mean, on a 700 pound car that goes 40 MPH tops, heck, a little bondo, sandpaper and spray paint, and they'll be just fine.
Oh, your car weighs more than 700 pounds? Goes faster than 40 MPH?

Ah.

Sell them on EvilBait, make big bucks, have someone pay to haul your trash out, right?

Lol. I basically just want to put some used tires on it so I can load it on a trailer and take it to my shop. I don't trust these jack stands on dirt.

I wouldnt sell anyone wheels this bad. Might get a quarter for them at the scrap yard.

I don't think you'd get tubeless tires to hold air on those - and, even tubes would probably get punctured pretty quickly. If you have some old tubes you're gonna replace anyway it might be worth a try for what you want to do. I wouldn't want to ruin a new $et of tubes on them...

Gotta tell you....I had an old Model A Ford once...and after dipping and blasting, the wheels looked about like that.
Ran fine, but then, tubes, 40MPH tops.......

On the other hand I think it is worth a try if this is all you want to do - handy to have some "shop wheels"
