TR2/3/3A Are all "stock" camshafts the same?

I'm at the point of selecting a cam for my engine rebuild. I've decided to go with a stock cam for simplicity sake and the fact that I think it will fit best with what I'm going to drive the car for which is cruising around country roads and attending British car shows. No plans to track or autocross!
Are all stock cams the same? I see a fairly big price difference from some of the vendors. Just not sure if some have been "hardened" while others use cheaper materials? Also, Moss says their "stock" cam has an uprated TR4 grind. Honestly I don't know that I'd notice a difference but I wanted to see if any of you had some input to the decision.
PS I'm going with the 89mm piston and liner set
Thanks!
Joel

"I've decided to go with a stock cam for simplicity sake".............Apart from a new piston/liner set, are you contemplating anything else with your rebuild.

I just had a lot of work done on my 3A motor including 89mm pistons. I used a Newman stock cam. It is certinally timed somewhat bigger than the origional cam and works extra well.

Excellent! I looked up the specs and it looks really good. Very similar to the “performance” cam Moss sells on the US site. Does your car idle smooth?

To answer your question, (Are all stock camshafts the same), No! Close but no. My XPEG would idle smoothly with the original cam 650 rpm, with the Crane (Stock) clone, it won't idle smoothly below 750 rpm. :cowboy2:
