OK - before I scream and toss the TV into the compost pile ...

I log in to Apple TV with my Apple ID.
Enter password.
"Password not valid - Reset?"
Yes
"Enter Apple ID"
done
"Enter password"
done
"Your Apple ID is not activated".
(There's no choice to activate - only reset password). The AppleID.apple.com site has two pages (!) of details on how to activate. Yikes
I click Reset Password.
"Enter Apple ID"
"Enter new password"
"Your Apple ID is not activated".

I've been repeating this cycle for 40 minutes.

Finally get my Apple ID accepted with no "not activated".
Enter new password.
"Enter the six digit code you receive on your phone".
Enter the code.
"Unable to complete - try again or Cancel"

Oh c'mon - this is ridiculous

Anyone have any suggestions? That compost heap is looking pretty good now.

Went through the whole procedure again this morning, but setting up a new account using my secondary email address.

Same issue - getting nowhere. After jumping through all the hoops again, this time the final message was:

"Your account cannot be created at this time. Cancel?"

I'm afraid Cancel is my only choice. There's no human online help available, and no choice but Cancel. Anyone else having all this fun with Apple TV?

Thanks. I must be beyond help.

After a few minutes, a real person answered! Asked for my name and Apple ID. Said my ID wasn't verified. Told me to go to the appleid.apple.com webpage and reset the id and password.

There's no reset on that page, just says to enter my apple id - so I'm back to square one.

I have an old Apple phone that won't let me get my email, called Apple many times to solve the problem for the past couple of years, and never accomplished anything, so I only use it for phone calls. Not buying another! :hammer2: The wife has an Android I think by Sony, and it will do the network just fine.
