On ebay he says that it has 11 months left on the MOT. Doesn't that imply that it is "on th' road again"? I not saying restored but drivable.

The MOT means that it is not only be drivable, but must also have all of its essential equipment (lights, wipers, washers, indicators, horns, brakes!) working in addition to having no excess play in the steering, and having the suspension working as it should. You should be able to get in, turn the key and drive it home without any issues.
