How much advance beyond the initial 4 degree setting are race prepped distributors set at ? I realize there are a lot of variables depending on modifications but I thought I read 8 degrees somewhere? How would a stock TR3 motor run at 8 degrees advance?
 
I know Hardy Prentice.He has a winning TR3 that he raced in SCCA for years
(he used to flat tow it behind his eType Jag).
