Anyone near Yellowstone/Grand Teton parks?

One of the goals of my retirement trip has been seeing Yellowstone Park, Grand Teton Park, and Mount Rushmore.

I know the parks themselves are closed due to ... unfortunate reasons.

But does anyone near the parks know if the US highways that pass through the parks are open? Like US 26/89/191/287 etc. through Yellowstone Park?

I've read several news reports, including from the National Parks website, that says things like "during the shutdown, some routes through the parks may still be open, some are closed."

I don't want to drive all the way there, only to find I can't get through.

Thanks.
Tom

not sure about yellowstone or the others but if its anything like glacier national park most likely the roads will be closed until things change

I'd guess that the highways through Grand Teton & past Mt Rushmore are open; since they normally do stay open when the parks are closed. But anything that goes through Yellowstone will be closed, as they have attended gates at every possible entrance. No rangers, no entrance.

Calling the state police is probably a good idea too, but don't forget there are gates in Montana & Idaho as well. I see there are already snow storm warnings in Billings, so some of the less popular routes into Yellowstone may be closed for snow as well.
