Anyone interested in checking out a BN2 in NM?

I live in the East Coast but found a BN2 for sale in New Mexico on the internet.

I was hoping that a Healey person that lives near Albuquerque, NM would be willing to check out this car for me. I would be willing to give you some money to check it out and take photos for me.

If you are willing to check out the Healey, please drop me an e-mail at capitaldriving@yahoo.com.

Thanks.

Ed

I think Basil is one of the few NM members

Jack Q is in Clovis....

Dave Porter would be a good choice as would Healey100. I'd help but all I could offer was its esthetic condition. Some of here in the Roadrunner Healey Club might know the Healey. Who does it belong to?

I have sent your query on to our local Austin Healey club. Let's see if you get a bite. If you don't let me know and perhaps I can talk with him and check it out in spite of my not being particularly knowlegeable. Cerillos is not too far from me and if memory serves me correctly it is just outside of Madrid headed to Santa Fee. In fact, I know it is. I could perhaps take photos and ask some intelligent questions?

This is an e-mail response from Dave Porter to my e-mail regarding the look/see.

"Many of us know Bob and his dwindling collection of race cars. I've seen and heard it run at Sandia on several occasions.

I might be able to get there this weekend. Judy, you can post this to the forum, it's been so long I don't remember my logon or password. Go for it."

This Dave is the Dave Porter that is recommended. Dave is the authority Healey mechanic in this area and elsewhere.

 Hey Ed, fess up! I heard by the grapevine that you done made a purchase and a wise one! Pics please when it arrives if it already hasn't.

Grapevine is a good friend of mine.

Hey Tiga. No I won't be going. Doug is working and I really can't leave his mother overnight. I am sure a good time will be had by all. Do us Healeys proud.

I am in the process of buying it.

To make a long story short, my bank (Navy Federal) needed me to register him and get a regsitration number before wiring him any funds. Then after I set it all up, I discovered that Navy Federal only allows me to send him $2500 a day with a maximumm of $7500 a week. So the funds will all be paid by the next Wednesday.

I'm so glad that Bob is very understanding and willing to work with me.

Bonnie (MN Austin Healey member) looked at the car for me, and she recommended a shipper.

This experience has been wonderful, and everyone is so nice! I can't wait to get the car.
