Cosmetics aren't important - will be used to make a home grown pressure bleeder system.

I feel a powerful urge to make something and I figure I cannot do too much harm here. Save me from trying to do something really dumb like create a water feature at the house or similar....

Yep, well sort of Ian! I was planning on building a low cost, home made version.

Figured if I can get this working I'd document it for the wiki...

I found #22 (TR3 cap) in a hardware store -- a replacement cap for a gas can or maybe a mower tank. Fit perfectly, got it for the same reason you're thinking of.
