TR4/4A Anyone have a lead on a wiper switch for a TR4A?

Like I said... Anybody have a lead on a wiper switch for a TR4A? I have tried all the usuals, and no dice. The lucas number is 35521. Any help gratefully accepted.
 
I forget Jesse, is that a single-speed or two-speed wiper ?
 
The 4A is a two speed unit. I have several NOS or gently used single speed switches. The 2 speed is like hens teeth.I am doing this car for a customer, so I would like it to be correct. When it came in , it had a household lamp switch in it, and that just will not do. Some one else took the interior apart(with explosives from the look of it), and several parts are missing. I also need the "back" of the grab handle that is molded into the RH lower dash cover. What a mess!
 
Isn't it the same switch as the headlamp switch used on TR4s (and many other applications)? If so, one of those would likely be more plentiful.
 
It's not the same switch; there are several Lucas switches that look nearly identical but are different inside and/or have different terminals.

However, I believe the TR6 heater blower switch (which may be the same as the TR4 headlight switch) can be made to work correctly and looks almost identical.

The information I have handy shows three wires to the switch : black (ground), red/light green (low speed), and brown/light green (high speed). Connect the black wire(ground) to terminal 4; R/LG to 7 and N/LG to 8.

That will give low speed as the first position out and high as fully out; which I'm not sure is correct. Maybe someone else knows ?
 
Moss lists the same P/N for the TR4 headlamps & the TR4A wiper... but that may well be just a consolidation of parts (sometime in the past as both are NLA now).

Goodness knows there are a lot of lugs on the back of the headlamp switch with (I think) at least one combination unused and I would think if it can handle the draw of headlamps w/o a relay it would be stout enough for wipers.

I should add, it is just barely able to handle the headlamp draw.

Maybe, but probably not. The TR4A switch has an unusual connection pattern, with two terminals connected for low speed and all 3 connected for high speed. Most American switches (and the TR6 according to Dan Masters) work differently.
