I just sent this message to Drew but I am not sure when he will receive it and I would like to get this measurement today if I can get it, for the travel of the float in the tank. Here is what I sent him. Any help would be great. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:] Drew, I need a measurement ASAP. I need the distance from the opening where the sender mounts to the tank down to the bottom of the tank where the tank is curved for the sender float to set on the bottom. Also I need the measurement from the sender mount up to the top of the tank. The sender sets down into the tank a bit, but the float goes up to the top of the tank inside when full. The sender float arm is adjustable and I need to make sure the travel is accurate. I am in the process of checking out both senders. I cleaned up the olds one. The old one is definitely better made and will be the most trustworthy of the two if I can get to calibrated for several reasons.[/QUOTE]

You didn't say what tank
but on a bugeye tank the measurements are
From the top of the sender mounting flange to the bottom of the tank it is 4 5/8"
From the top of the sender mounting flange to the top of the tank it is 1 1/16"
Later tanks had a half a gallon extra capacity so if you use the above for full to empty you will have a builtin reserve.

Yeah that is exactly what I needed thanks. Yes, for the older model tank. I think they were all the same except for vents, etc. until the spitfire engine version, then the tank got bigger.

Glad you got what you needed, Kim. I was shoveling all day, and didn't get back to the old 'puter until now...
