Been on this site for over 10 years now and never asked if anyone was from Holland. Just curious. PJ

Oddly, most have never posted. Maybe language differences?

Actually, Not known by many, I can communicate in Dutch. The wifes family is from there. PJ

Translation,

Eigenlijk, niet bekend is door veel mensen, ik kan communiceren in het Nederlands. De familie wifes is vanaf daar. PJ

A lot of the younger people in the Netherlands speak English, not so much, I've found, in the older folks. PJ

I'm reminded of Monty Python (relative to Sweden): Møøse ist nö laüfink mätter, as ani Svede kan tëll. Llamas, ön die øder hænd, ist nicht so tuff.

When we were in The Netherlands, it seemed like EVERYONE spoke England very well.

Møøse ist nö laüfink mätter, as ani Svede kan tëll. Llamas, ön die øder hænd, ist nicht so tuff. Funny, I don't recognize this writing. PJ

:highly_amused:

I am first generation American, my parents are still Dutch citizens. I speak and understand the language but my writing skills need some work. JP over on the Sprite forum is also of Dutch extraction. All my family live in Zoud Holland.
Regards
Paul

With 34 listed as being from Holland, I was curious why very few, if any, have posted anything on the forum. One goes back to 2003. Wonder what it would take to get these folks to respond? PJ

Was just there in Sept '15 and found all spoke English and well. The owner Hans of the Healey Museum and his wife Ria speak very well. Not sure they are on here but you may want to look at their site.

If you go out of the cities and into the farming country, less folks speak anything other than their native language.

I got 117. There are a couple with Big Healeys who post a bunch.
I just tried the search again and got the same result. Member list >advanced search > location=Holland total=34

Just relocated from Utrecht - Holland to San Diego, i left my totally restored early MGA in holland.

I am not from Holland, however my name is Dutch (a boy's name though) - my grandfather came over to start life here and married a Native American woman he found on a reservation. Coincidentally, my car badge business partner lives in Holland. He and I worked together for a year before actually met him in person, at the Morgan factory in England, to launch one of our badges this past March. Since I do not speak Dutch, it is lucky that he speaks English among other languages. The Internet is in amazing thing, we never would have teamed up otherwise, as I've never been to the Netherlands, and he has never been to the US.
