Anyone else seen the Triumph Fury?

TRIUMPH FURY
The prolific stylist Giovanni Michelotti produced a whole range of Triumph prototypes in the ‘50s and ‘60s. Many made it into production – the Herald and TR4 began this way – but the Fury, intended as an intermediate model in between the Spitfire and the TRs with its steel body and 2-litre six-cylinder engine, never made it to production. Completely unique and a fascinating glimpse at ‘what might have been’.

Dino, the lack of development monies, union worker quality issues and not getting hot, new looking products to market ultimately killed the company. Too bad because if the TR7/8 had the money behind it to go another two years, we might be talking about what was coming in 2013.

I would have bought one of those in a heartbeat back then.

The rear end actually looks good. I know the front takes a little getting used to since it doesn't have the traditional Triumph lines.

Looks to me like parts of the styling evolved into the Stag.

The only Fury made has survived and is owned by a lady in the UK with a big collection of cars.

I saw the Fury at Harrogate TR Register International Weekend last July in Yorkshire England where there were reportedly 750 TRs attending.

Here is a rear view of it just after the concours show when the battery exploded for no apparent reason and the lady owner was getting help from everyone around.

With what I thought was a nice front end, I would have hoped they could have been a bit more stylish with the tail lamps. Not overly bad, just boring to me, compared to the front end.
