Well, I guess where I live, weird is now the accepted normal.
Lake Murray, SC was created about 1929 (pre- new deal, but same concept, (put a lot of fellas to work)
Dammed up & flooded the Saluda River basin, displacing over 5000 people & 3 towns. The Feds reported moving over 2000 graves to new sites on higher ground. ( but the rascals didn't count the Black folks back then & their "remains" remained ). Between 1930-40, it was not uncommon to mistake a floating wooden casket for a johnboat. (According to one old-old fella I know anyway)
still can see the old churches, buildings, bridges, etc on sonar....even a good fish Finder.
