Has anyone done the German R&P (for sale @ BPNW) for the TR3,,,either model solid or two piece?

I'm not sure what the German R&P is, but I just resently did a R&P conversion that I bought from a company in England. It looks very much like the one on the BPNW site. The only thing is, since I did the conversion, I haven't finished the body off resto. so I haven't been able to test drive it with the new steering. I do know that the steering can be moved without any effort and seems very tight and smooth.

I heard of a conversion using a TR7 rack and misc pieces from Spitfires. I sold a rack to someone on this board last year who did the conversion. Maybe he'll chime in.

Is that the system from ProTek, I believe you weld that R&P in place. I used the one from Ted Smith at British Auto Restoration in Roanoak, Virginia. They use a bolt on version, so if you want to go back to the original setup you can!

No, this is a bolt on system that has all of the parts for the solid steering TR3. It is a very complete system but the inst are in German and i can't get thetech stuff to translate. I think I can figure everything out but it would be handy to talk to soemeone that's done it. Brit Parts NW sells it and you can see the system on their site.

I have that R+P installed on my TR3. It works great but there are some things you should know. E-mail me with your phone number and I will call you.

Murray-

If you don't mind sharing, give us the highlight issues of the setup. I'm considering this for my 3A project, depending on how things turn out.

I think the kit, if german, is from Bastruck. One of the features I thought was nice is that they at least figured out a way to make the horn and trafficator functional. The only thing it doesn't do is cancel the turn signal but I'd think you could get used to it.

PRB51,

If you're in Arizona you owe it to yourself to be in touch with Bill Close.

He documents everything in English not German, and I have done due diligence and found him to be excellent at answering questions.

Bill's phone number is (480) 835 0987
or www.eaglegatellc.com

I can't say enough about him.
