Anyone converted a PI manifold to Motronic?

I'm consdering, instead of the BMW engine conversion, adapting the V1.7 Bosch Motronic to a PI manifold. Has anyone converted a mechanical system to electronic? I've been watching eBay for a PI manifold to come around for me to play with to no avail.

It's a US spec with the later head, I'm told a PI manifold will fit, and the head can be shaved to proper compression. Why I want to convert and keep it Truimph is because I get a kick out of throwing the OD switch on the column - and the whole originality thing. Why I'd like to go BMW is because for me it's free, the TR driveline will cost thousands to rebuild. The M20 engine is powerful, reliable, and nearly maintainance free. I'd get a kick out of the questions too - "What's that, some kind of Works cross-flow head?"

piman: The PI intake manifolds will fit with the later style US head.

35thbdaytr6: I have a set being machined to hold EFI injectors for a MegaSquirt EFI setup right now. I purchased CNC machined pockets for Bosch-style injectors from MSD and my machinist is melting out the plastic PI injector holder and epoxying in the CNC pocket.

Hello all,
I didn't know that the later heads would take the P.I. manifold, and never understood why Triumph fitted a different head for U.S. spec engines (different inlet port spacing).
By the way Hayfever, the plastic injector pockets just pull out, you don't need to melt them.

Very interested in your conversion, please keep us posted. I can sell the stuff I have for way more that that FI system and retain originality.
