Anyone a Django Reinhardt Fan?

When I was in high school in the early sixties, I was in a jazz group. I played guitar and vibes. One of my favorite jazz guitarists was Django Reinhardt.

He was a gypsy and got severly burned in a fire. He lost most of the use of his left hand. He could only play with TWO fingers, but that didn't stop him. He re-learned the guitar and the result was nothing short of amazing.

Anyway, my son gave me thirteen CDs of Django for my birthday last night...probably everything he ever recorded! Great kid I got there. :yesnod:

Learned of him 30 years ago and became a fan of his music and also the people he played with like Stephan Grappelli. Saw him play a few times always a treat.

Fantastic player -- astounding what he could do with only 2 functioning fingers. We do "Minor Swing" in my duo group quite a bit.
