Marcel Chichak gives it as 87-onwards Land Rover, EFI, Federal.
 
Thanks Randall, unfortunately it is not an exact copy. That one is suppose to have an amplifier on the side and mine don't. Now my car is a bastardization of a GM multi port so the computer runs the dizzy so I guess I will have to talk to the maker about it.
 
The front is apart and the top is down to the intake and I was wondering about adding a MSD or Mallory to it. Just don't know what one to get as it seems the dizzy is a Rover that had been modified to except a GM external module that the computer controls. It must control the timing and such.
Next step is to pull the intake and there will be the lifters and such. So basically I'm almost at the pull cam ,lifters, and push rods.

I am running a Mallory from Woodie and it has been great - so one vote for that route.
 
If your dizzy lacks timing controls (centrifugal and vacuum advance), then I would look for a unit that has them. Try Steve Hedke at British Pacific, I'm sure he can hook you up with a suitable unit.

An MSD 6 will replace almost any other module, it works with most pickups (except optical). But it doesn't provide any timing control. MSD does sell some timing controls, but they are basically manual controls; not really suitable for street driving.
 
Randall My computer controls the advance and the timing so my dizz don't need it. I don't think the MSD 6 will do that.
This is all conjecture at this point until I talk with the last owner and creator.
 
Ah, my mistake, Don. I thought you were saying you didn't have the ECU to control timing. You're quite right, the MSD 6 won't do that.

However, it should be able to run from the ECU output, to give you a computer controlled lightening bolt (if that's what you want).

...cept my car is a OBD 1 computer. Don't know if the MSD6 and those where compatible
 
I don't know either; but I can't see why not. The ECU sends out a pulse and the plug fires. I don't see how it would even know that the MSD supplied extra juice and/or pulses to the plug. It's just a coil trigger module on steroids ...
