I'm game Tony. It's a Ford of some sort and it moves broken cars around your lot. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Stuart. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Holey moley! That takes the cake!

I'd have guessed it was a Photoshop job, but I can tell by your question that it isn't.

Looks like whoever built it "got the cart before the horse".

I can't imagine *what* it's used for....maybe the winner of the $2006 Hillbilly Challenge? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Come on, guys...ya'll gonna make me post the photo?

Well it's an F150 or 250 4wheel drive using the front axel for the drive wheels, but I could only guess at what they're using it for.
Maneuvering around something I'd guess.
Tanks, or containers, but something heavy, and something they want placed fairly precicely

It's a Beaver wetter!!!!

Holy Cow... "two rails and a Ford"!!!

...where's Steve when ya NEED 'im?!? or RG?!?!

Neat!

Getting ready to go "up on the step".

I never would have guessed.
Harrison Ford brings his Beav into our airport once in a while (on wheels of course).

(note: Those floats are worth at least $30,000 just by themselves.....LBCs are cheap compared to airplane stuff)

Beaver airplane $200,000 (I'm guessing here)
Pontoons for Beaver airplane $30,000
Hacking a Ford in half to make the oddest looking towmoter to get your Beaver in and out of the lake
Priceless

I was curious myself, so I just checked the Barnstormers (aircraft sales) website.
There's a nice Beaver on floats for $425,000.
On wheels they're bringing around $375,000, so I was low on the float price too.

Well, the guy had another Beaver sitting in the hangar next to that one!

Just out of curiosity, what makes the pontoons so expensive? I understand the necessary strength, aerodynamics, etc. Is it really that much?

Ben

Maybe not... + installation and all applicable State and local Taxes? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Here in the UK they have a neat little Customs & Excise scam (er, arrangement) where they charge taxes ON the taxes.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Well if it makes you feel any better in here in Canada 51% of my income goes directly to the government(cuz apparently I meet the requirements of their 'high income' tax)...Then whatever I purchase with my remaining 49% I get taxed 14% on....Add this to all the other junk you have to pay for; property tax, insurance, hydro, etc, and I am left with nothing....amazing country ain't it? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

Ain't Socialism great?
