Anybody swapped a T5 into a Cortina or the like?

Rather than re-invent the wheel, does anybody out there in car candy land know anything about swapping a T5 ( aka Mustang 5 speed ) trans onto a Kent motor. ( you know, Ford Prefect, Anglia, Corsair, Cortina, Capri, Ecsort etc. )I'm talking the pushrod motors, not the Pinto OHC or the Fiesta FWD unit.

This is my next project. I don't want to do another Alfa % spd cause they are so hard to find and weird to work on, and parts are drying up for them anyway. Any know how gained from this kind of swap would be greatly appreciated..

This is a switch, usually i do it first the hard way then go out and look for someone else who has done it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif

You could try this crew.
https://www.conversioncomp.com

Do "select a product" and go (obviously) to Ford.

They pretty much fit anything to anything. I know they ship to the US too. It looks like you can get a conversion to a Supra gbox (which I just did for my TR6) or a T50.

I know it's not a T5, but they are both readily available, and the Supra box (if you get the W58 at least) is light and will handle tons of hp.

Have you tried John at quantumechanics.com. I know he does British Ford five speeds. It may be worth a look and I know he does great work.

Go to Andrew Hardies The Ford Cortina Website",out of
Australia,then go to "Links".
Go to Bob Woolner's site.Join his Cortina List dicussion
group. You'll find help from people all over the world that
can probably answer any question you might have.
This came up awhile ago (T5),so it's there.
