Haven't yet - I thought that I'd try & ask around first,
in case anyone had parts laying around that they'd sell for
a reasonable price (or give away).
I haven't bought it yet,but found a 1980 Sport model
in good shape,& only made a reasonably affordable offer
to save it from going to the crusher. It's a roller, but almost
complete,with no rust.
Still looking over ideas on what to do about an engine.
The one I'm planning to buy is a MKI Fiesta.I did some research,& it seems that you
have to move the engine forward.I'm still considering that option.
I had a MKI Ghia that had every option on it,& had a 1700 (started as a stock 1600)
that had about 125 HP,using a pair of 40 Webers.Fast car!
They were a great fun car here in the uk. Highly modifiable
Most mk2 bits will fit.
I did one for my sons first car put the mk 2 dash seats wheel arch spats from the xr2 and bumpers the rears will fit front and back with a little modification.
I still have our 1980 Fiesta but the engine sitting in it is too radical to pass smog, which is why you moved out of California? When I finally finish the Morris Traveller I’m going to swap back to a stock cam and see if it will pass… in the meantime I need some parts too. It’s missing the alternator and has a broken inside drivers door handle, etc.
I might be interested in the performance parts. We don't have
to smog anything in this part of Virginia.
It's tempting to pick up a cool car from California that won't
pass smog.I just need more money,& a place to put more cars!
Went & looked at it again & took some pictures.Lots of
interesting parts,including a pair of Mikuni's (40's?) on a manifold,
& a lot of engine parts, but no block or head.
