I'm hearin' ordinance like I'm in a WAR!!

Same here - flashbacks, huh?

Thank the Lord they don't test the air raid sirens anymore.

All that peacoat talkin' gotcha huh?

I've been hearin' some unusually load stuff too, but local yutes been makin' sparkler bombs as of late.

We were sittin' in church last Sunday and .... CABOOOM !!!! My wife and I looked at each other and I said, "Josh Daigle!!!"
(you'd have to know this kid, he'd tear up a crowbar w/ a rubber mallet.)

One of th' neighborhood denizens apparently acquired some kinda "pro-sumer" fireworks. Had to be a TUBE launched version, I kept hearin' the distinct "PHUD-whoosh" then brutal concussions-n-lights overhead. Waay too much like the real thing for my taste.

Thankfully no klink rounds goin' off this year. Just th' random .45 clip's worth now and again.

My .45 stayed in its place in my truck.....didn't even think about firing up the night.

Greg- every Monday at 1:01pm they test them here. I keep hoping the lousy economy will force the city to dismantle the system. We probably still have stocked fall-out shelters around, too.

Every week? When I was a kid, they tested them once a month onna Wednesday. I remember the test going off once on a non-scheduled time. There was few minutes of "concern" that day.

We had 'em at 1800 every day. Fire station would sound the siren. It was a VFD, so they were more interested in maintaining it for responders than "air raids".

eh... I heard sounds reminiscent of the firing range, both from the firing line and from the pits, followed up with a fire for effect call to arty dead on 00:00 up next to Eglin AFB that night

doc, when i was a wee boy some of the jets out of floyd bennet field would break the sound barrier over sheeps head bay, now that was ah panty changin time, ya know the story... cows wouldnt give milk, chickens wouldnt lay eggs, broken windows etc, etc,... locals took up arms and got them to stop.
