Anybody have a steering wheel emblem for '68 Sprite stock steering wheel?

I'm looking for one of these for a friend. It's not a horn button, just a cover for the hub. He has a padded MG one which is not right for the wheel or car.

Thanks!

just saw one on ebay. $175.00, hope that was a typo or I am going to have to start locking my car.

haha... yeah, pretty insane... I think I'd have something CNC'd for that kind of money.

Didn't the 68 have the horn on the stalk of the turn signal? I had one at one time when I wanted the earlier horn push. Bought by mistake on flea-bay and resold. Seem's like the crest in the middle is the same as for the horn button and if it is isn't that being reproduced? If reproduced he could get a medallion for an MG and change the two. Increased option's.

Kurt.

Correct, as stated in my original post, not a horn button. There are not being reproduced, at least not that I could find. ID of hub is 3", OD is 3-3/16", so larger than the typical horn buttons. They would have made the same time for MG, but Moss shows both as NLA. VB seems to indicate one, but I'm not clear if it's the right one. Item # 18-179... anybody know for sure? Calling them is usually a waste of time as they seem to be just clerks.

Here's a pic of the button off the wheel hub.

It looks like 18-179 is the right size cap, but it's for a Midget, not a Sprite. I have one of the caps in question on my '69 Sprite. If you needed better pictures or more specific measurements, I can get them for you.

My friend tells me he measured 3" ID, and 3-3/16" OD. If you want to compare yours for me, let me know what you find.

Thank you!

I came up with the following measurements

Cup that goes into the steering wheel on the back of the emblem: Outside diameter - slightly larger than 2 7/8 inches (74mm), Inside diameter, slightly under 2 3/8 inches (67.5 mm)

The "button" part is 3 1/2 inches across (89 mm), the area of the marquee is 2 7/8 inches (74mm).

The marquee is removable, so if you have a Midget horn button and can find an Austin Healey marquee, you can swap them out

The one eBay looks virtually identical to mine
