Anybody got a CHEAP truck?

I'm looking for a $500 or less (preferrably lots less) Basic full size FordChevy truck within a reasonable distance from me here in the fingerlakes of NY. I need something with heat for the winter, so I'm not driving the Jeep, and it might as well be a truck that I can use.
I'd love to find something with a decent body, but maybe needs some mechanical work.
Regular or extended cab
Standard or automatic
2 or 4 wheel drive
F150-250 or 1500-2500
Preferrably F150- 1500 for cheaper maintenance
Ford either inline 6 or V8, Chevy V8 only
Cap is a plus.
Just putting some feelers out there. I'm in no hurry.
P.S. will trade carb rebuild labor (or other sub assembly) or I have TR4A parts to trade.

Good Luck!!! Trucks are hard to find. CHEAP trucks are nearly impossible to find. GOOD CHEAP trucks do not exist. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I never said "good" hehehe. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
I've actually got a line on a couple right now. I'll keep ya all posted on the search.
They're out there. ya just gotta be patient.

Yup.. Actually found on in Ithaca that the guy was willing to trade for help painting his big old sailboat.
It's an 85 F250 extended cab. But I dunno. I'd bet that boat would take forever to paint, and that's a bit bigger of a truck than I really want.
But it's one option.

Hey Banjo, you can have my '86 F150 extended cab, comes with a
nice canopy, 295K miles, 5.0L auto tranny, good winter beater,
unfortunately, I'm on the left coast, and the engine is just
about worn out, it won't pull a fat kid off a tricycle at this
point, but it's cheap...
