Happy Easter all.
I am trying to make the arangements for getting my recently purchased toy home, and was curious if there were any special things that would have to be done if I have it towed, and not trailered or dollied. I know there were things not to do with my TR7, but have no idea about these cars. From the front? from the back. or does it matter in regards to the transmission?
Thanks in advance.

i learned the hard way. careful they don't place the hooks around the axle where the rear brake line is and never have them attach a hook to the battery compartment bar. this is when you use a flatbed. i had this happen to me on two separate occasions by the same tow company. they made good on the first mistake. just waiting for them to contact me regarding the next. use the one-ended hoist. less likelihood of mistakes happening.

regards,
eric

They say ..don't tow it backwards if it has W/W. If you like thrills,... I once was rope towed 20+ miles on a 2 lane hwy in an MGB by a pal who thought 60+ was fun and games.

Good Evening!! I put an MGB GT on a tow dolly from Atlanta to Daytona Beach and had no problem. I had the drive shaft removed and towed it with the rear wheels on the ground. I don't like the idea of the front wheels on the ground and having to worry about the steering.

And a happy Easter to you all too!

All I will say is after 40 years of playing with old cars, spending $60 to rent a trailer to bring home my last purchase was some of the smartest money I have spent...made the job so easy and hasslefree once I got the Uhaul people straighened out

Paul, I second what Bruce said. Unless you're just bringing it home from across town, put it on a small trailer. No worries that way.

Thanks for the input. It just happens that the owner of the car still has his trailer he used to bring it here. He is having it checked over to make sure it is OK, and is letting me use it for the 67 km (50 or so Mile) Highway trip. Seems easier then disconnecting the driveshaft.
Now.... WHEN????
