Any "Oxford American" readers out there?
I first discovered the Oxford American magazine when I lived in Ontario and the last time I remember (just before I moved back to Alberta ~ 2003) they were going belly up, but I always loved the magazine, such good articles! And their annual Southern Music CD issue was always sooo good.
I was astounded tonight while web browsing to stumble onto their website, and that they are onto their 11th music issue, and still in business six years later. Yeah... I know a tundra dweller like me isn't supposed to be into things like this
Further web browsing seems to indicate that their previous CD's are worth quite a bit of money on the market... CD #5 that I'm listening to right now could be purchased online for $40!
And I just simply paid probably $15 for the magazine and CD back in 2003  And some of their Southern Music CD's are going for higher than $100...
I suspect that this tundra dweller may be getting a subscription to Oxford American in the near future, assuming their writing is as good as it was back in 2002... The magazine is one of the best kept literary and music secrets out there...
