Any one have $15K I can borrow?

....& now you guys know why I sell my stuff as quickly & as inexpensively as possible!

To my eye, he'll be lucky to get $5,000 for the lot....it'll take months to go through that stuff to figure out what's useable & what's not....along with hundreds of dollars of machine shop testing, labor for disassembly/cleaning/checking, lots of junkman trips to/from recycler, inventorying, etc, etc, etc.

....& he'll end up with a few things that will actually sell! ....& a lot that'll sit on the shelf or in a new field!

Wow, he wants top dollar for a pile of junk.

Sure some good stuff in there prob. but in its present state is a pile of junk fit for the crusher.

...&, Jack, you've seen my place - this makes it look like the Library of Congress!! & my junkman hauled off a trailer & pickup bed full of stuff like that last month - along with 3 cars we crushed! & I'll haul off lots more this summer just because I've got lots of duplicates & it never sells!

I'm not gonna leave a pile of crap like that for my wife & daughter to dspose of!

Hehe, they can always call the junk man to come get the whole thing. Gota think outside the box sometimes.

Yea you need more room for new stuff in any case. Need to look for 1275s and ribcase cars with disc brakes. Seems a lot of folks looking for that stuff.

Before I left on this trip, I took that setup to a friend who's been looking for it for his Morris Minor for over a year.

And how would one go about moving all that junk if you really wanted it? He should also try and sell the land, hehe!

I reckon there's a profit to be made there for anyone with the time and patience. But I have neither.

Ya know,
Last year when we were vacationing in the Caymans and I had a thought... I could assemble a fleet of 25 Midgets and rent them out as daily fun cars on the island. The roads there are narrow, and the speed limit is 35, and the weather is perfect for Midgets. I could live in a shack beside the garage and be a one man operation.

I never gave anymore thought to the logistics of this plan because I didn't want to spoil my dream. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Someone did that with Mini Mokes (LBC Jeeps based on the Mini) on Catalina Island, they lasted for many years but are now gone :(.

That is a LOT of work gentleman. I think Tony is spot on. Who in their right mind would want to take that on, AND pay $15k...for if-you're-lucky a few gems?

It would be cheaper to go pay top dollar for whatever it is you are looking for IMO.

A few years back I looked into a move to the Caymans. Seems like a nice place, but a quick look at the property market shot my idea down in flames... you'd need a lot more than the $15k for the wrecks!
