The reason for the query is that I JUST got a phone call from my son who was on his way home from Colorado after his discharge from the AF. and he has just had an accident on US 70. His car has been totaled, and some local assistance would be helpful!

This isn't exactly what you hope for right after a discharge!

Thankfully, he is OK, Tom! The car is a goner, but he must have an angel watching over him. He apparently left the highway at 60 mph and hit guardrails in the median, totaling the car (a Scion TC). He is presently stuck at the place where they towed his car to, trying to figure out what to do! He has a car-full of personal effects that he does not want to leave in the car at the towing yard. We are trying to locate a rental for him via the web and are rather at a loss of what we can do remotely!

We have been trying that, but apparently everything in Warrenton closes at 5pm or at the latest 6!!

Thanks all! I have booked a flight to St. Louis tomorrow and will rent a car to drive him and his stuff home with! I guess the totaled car will become a problem for the insurance co. to settle!
This will certainly be a homecoming to remember!!

Glad to hear that your son is fine. What is it with Air Force personnel on the ground. Basil's son kept having weather problems, even show in Las Vegas. My son, Mike, flew to Japan and left his carry-ons at the luggage carousel and went through customs, then had to find out how to get back out to get his carry on luggage after clearing Japanese customs. Somehow he did it.

Have a safe trip the rest of the way home.

Here's what I found when I got out there! Looks savable to me, but we shall see what the adjuster has to say when this is all done! I don't know how one will ever get all the glass shards out of the interior!! Those cable median dividers sure can mess up a car...would have decapitated a driver in an LBC!!!
