Hey guys, new here.. I have a 57 tr3 that I truely have been wanting for 20 some years.. coming close all that time but not acheiving a purchase until about 5 years ago.. but that is not my question. Just picked up a 64 triumph Herald for a rebuild. This is going to be a father daughter project... any suggestions for parts, clubs, etc on the web?? I have searched some, but not too many outright herald organizations...

Hi, Jack, and welcome to the Forum from another '57 TR3 owner.

Not too up on Heralds, but I'm sure others here will jump in. At one time I understood that many of the parts are interchangeable with Spitfires. If that's the case, there ought to be lots of stuff out there.

I just got rid of my 62 Herald Coupe, I still have a 64 Sports 6.

About the Herald /Spitfire parts goodies, I think most of the drivetrain is swapable, But It depends on what the years are.

My first car was a Herald ('59 948cc Sports Coupe no less) that I rebuilt from the ground up. A super-easy car to work on and parts should not be too much of a problem - although body panels and trim will have to come from the U.K.

Mickey and the others are right, most of the mechanicals and front suspension are shared with the spitfire, but very few Heralds were imported to the U.S., so other parts may require imports. As for tech info - a good workshop manual (perhaps Bentley's does one) is invaluable. But generally these are a pretty straight-foward car, and easy to work on. Just be careful on sharp corners when the swing axles decide to tuck-under - can be quite a thrill for the novice.

Great little cars, went around England in a convertible, even got to put the top down a few times, brand new at the time, so it's been a while. Hope yours is not to rusty. Echo on all of the above about parts. Wayne
 
Thanks guys, I knew you all would be helpful... I haven't picked up the cars yet.. still trying to find a way of getting them from SC to Virginia... So I am not 100% what I have yet, except that they are convertibles.... Will let you know when they come in...

I am going to order a workshop manual right now..
