Any Healeys On Eastern Long Island, NY?

Does anyone in the Westhampton Beach, NY area own a Healey? I'd like to organize a very informal get-together before the end of the summer. I've seen a few whiz by, but I couldn't catch up!

i'm in the city - but i'd be interested.

Well, I guess I just found the inspiration to finally log in.
I've learned so much from this site for the past year or so.
I should probably go no further before I say thank-you to everyone who takes the time to share their knowledge.
I'm on Long Island. Bought my dream car-a 67 BJ8-about a year ago in Oregon and had her shipped here to her new home.
Since then I've torn her apart.
I set out to change a heater control and ended up replacing the entire interior. I got carried away!
Also the engine was blowing smoke so...again I got carried away.Still waiting on the engine.
Anyway I had to answer the call for L.I. Healeys and say hello but it'll be a few weeks before I hit the road again. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

I'm on LI too, Oyster Bay area. I just got my BJ8 a few weeks ago and was wondering why there was no LI Healey club. It would be nice to have some people who are more knowledgeable than me to turn to. I've been working hard to undo the prior owner's "restoration" and have had to grope around in the dark for answers until I found this site.

Thanks tahoe. Today's job is to try to get the bonnet to fit better and close tight. It looks like the bonnet is a little too far forward, causing it to pull up when driving, rattle and back into the sides. I see the hinges and know how to change the bonnet, but I'm not quite sure how to make such a small adjustment with the hood open and get it right (as opposed to move it and still end up with unequal gaps. Is this just a trial and error thing, or is there a secret to getting the gaps right?
