ground is a good day and I'm saying this after being stuck on Interstate 40 with a temperature of 31 and a shredded rear driver's side tire. Seems something came off a pick-up and I ran over it as it happened so quickly. I truly thought I was going to roll the Envoy as it took a lot for me to keep it going straight. I pulled over almost immediately to the break down lane. Now you have to know I was coming back from taking hubby to the airport. Time 5:30 AM. Local sheriff stopped, she was delighted that I was already waiting for help. Then a young man who was returning from Albuquerque after taking his mother-in-law in for dialysis stopped. He was going to the local coffee shop before his job at the local tire/general maitenance shop. My friend that I called arrived and the young man, Richard, stayed with me until he came. I gave Richard my keys, locked the Envoy and home I went. Friend, Stan, had to return home but I will get him to breakfast my treat. Now I am going to have a late breakfast and local tire shop will bring car when done. Total cost about $600.00. The rim is shot but it wasn't my fault the tire shop said. Seems that the tire was totally ripped to shreds and it only took a few feet to destroy it. Well, I'm alive and well, so - Great Day! (P.S. when hubby has a real early flight such as today I've been known to wear a trench coat with my pajamas underneath. I didn't today and will never ever even think about not getting dressed in 'people' clothes.

So folks, Good Morning - hug each other - and enjoy the day!

I shudder to think what would have transpired had you been in an LBC!

Glad you're OK.

If it's an all wheel drive Envoy. That will mean 4 tires

Glad to hear you're okay -- and that you chose to be dressed today!

:nopity: It is, you're correct. $1200.00 and will not be ready until Monday next. It has a towing package which changes the rim. The one in stock of course was not the one that belonged on this Envoy. Sure was an expensive commute to the airport.

Oh well the upside is I'm driving the Jag and mother-in-law can't complain because this is the only transportation for a while. She really doesn't like the Jag as it's "too low, I don't feel safe." Could be worse I could put her in Agatha. lol I know I'm just plain mean. :jester:

I was liking the trench coat bit! Glad you survived to tell the tale. --elrey
