Hey...are there any bowlers around here?
When I was in college, I used to bowl on the school team; bowled through most of my teenage years. About my second year of school, I ended up leaving the sport, mainly because I was experiencing hand and wrist issues (tendinitis and carpal tunnel) that left me almost unable to hold onto a ball, and I wasn't doing that well anyway.
About two months ago, I found a couple of bowling balls in my closet that I'd ordered up prior to quitting, that I'd never used or even had drilled. Since I'm a fair bit stronger now than I was then, and bowling was about the only sport I was ever any good at, I decided to pick it back up again.
There's good news and bad news: the good news is, I'm still pretty much the same as when I left all those years ago. The bad news is, I'm still pretty much the same as when I left all those years ago. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
Nowadays, it isn't my hand or wrist that hurts...it's my left hip and knee. I'm thinking bad technique though; my right foot tends to come up off the ground when I hit the release point. All my weight, plus whatever torque I'm putting on the ball ends up going to the left hip and knee as a result; not good.
Any other bowlers around here with some advice or stories for a new old guy?
