Got this Carolina press while on an excursion to buy a HF 20 ton press. I don't know much about it. I think it was made in South Carolina by Carolina Tool Company, which is still in in business. It is the older green model which seem to be better in reputation at least than the newer red ones. It's 40 a ton two speed model and cost a little more than the HF 20 ton. Everything seems to work as it should but I haven't put a big load on it yet.

I was thinking of putting a pit in front of it. Actually, just got the press out of the van and into the shop where the disabled car I'm working on blocks two others so had to juggle things around. By the way, the press is rated at 40 tons.
I wonder if anyone might know of the Carolina Tool Company and/ or this press.

Has to be better than Harbor Freight. The press part works well but the steel plates that come with it shatter on use. I replaced them, I am also amazed at how often I use the press. Very good buy!

Thanks for the link. It shows that I put the bottom feet on backward. They were rusty and I removed them for painting and put them back on in a hurry.

I also found another site that criticized the new "red" Carolina presses. I wonder if those are US made. My green one has a "Made in America" plaque on it.
