Another road trip to pick up a car

This time, the road trip is 4 hours south to St. George to pick up my new 2009 Honda Fit Sport. For once, I'll be able to drive a new car acquisition home. :smile:

I looked around locally quite a bit, but no one was able to produce a car that was what I wanted. I just wanted a stock Fit, no extra dealer add-ons. They seem to like to add on window tints, undercoating, etc. I almost had a deal worked over the phone for one located close to me, but it stopped when the salesman told me about the $1500 in dealer extras.

I've no issue with a dealer making a profit, but wasn't interested in stupid extras. So a few minutes of interneting and a couple phone calls, and a deal was struck for what I was looking for. Jenny and I drive down in the morning, pick up the car and sign the papers, then right back home. I'm excited!

Y'all are too much.

And we're home now... a good trip, and unique in that we didn't need a trailer to bring home the new car. 600 mile round trip, took about 12 hours total down and back with time for the purchase and lunch. A rapid trip, but well worth it. Got about 40 MPG on the way home in the new ride, and it was comfy and nice to drive. I'm pleased.

Nice, it looks a little different than the ones I see around here....Maybe there is a Canadian/U.S version??

There are some differences US vs Europe/Asia (not sure about Canada). Also, the 2009 is a new model, looks different than the 2008 and earlier.

Ron;

If you go on Honda.ca and then Honda.com they are the listings for Canada and then the U.S.

I think there are some differences as most models have a few subtle changes. Not really enough to matter, but enough to make us feel slighted

Welcome to Canada EH!

Nice car Drew. I especially like those wheels. Is that a sport model?

Dave

It is a Sport model with the 5-speed stick. Can't open it up yet (250 more miles of break in to go) but it feels peppy. Not fast, but nimble and nippy. Very LBC for a LJC.

Oh, and I just filled up the tank. 40 MPG for my first tank. :thumbsup:
