TR2/3/3A Another odd break down story

I was cruising along in the TR3 when the speedometer needle pinned to the far right and the car died? What the! Turns out the coil wire had come into contact with the speedometer cable causing the cable to be energized and killing the ignition.An easy fix though.:D

That cable was quite creatively router on mine, easy to see how it could get into trouble.
 
IMHO this is not much of a break down. I hit a rough patch with my old 59 after high school
That summer( 1969) I blew one tranny and 3 diff's and fried a valve. The last diff was the worst
it melted the pinion bearing at speed(90) and left me and two lady friends stranded in Oklahoma
22 miles from the center of NOWHERE.

Well the crankshaft broke between the 3rd and 4th journal at speed one time.... I guess that qualifies as a break down. :smile: Why were you going thru so many diffs? How hard were you driving the beast?
