Hi there,

My car is a '57 Metropolitan 1500 coupe. It's on jackstands now, with a Spridget front disc swap in progress, and a Midget 3.9 differential to follow. The kicker, though, is that, as my username implies, this is going to be an electric car conversion. With the price of a Nissan Leaf threatening to be in the $30,000 range, I thought I'd try something a little different for a grocery-getter. There are a few Midget and Spitfire (and even an A-40) conversions out there. I look forward to learning a great deal here.

Mike, that's marvellous! Such a British spirit of lunacy too, I love it. I wish you all the best of luck with it. It's certainly going to be "different!"

Now that sounds interesting....welcome & keep us updated in the Other British Car Forum.

Howdy Mike,

"Welcome" to the BCF. I too had a Met Conv. several yrs ago in Exc. Cond & Sold it for $2.5K to a Met Club Pres.

I was watching re-runs of Barrett-Jackson yesterday & one sold for $30K.

"Another bites the dust" for me!

Have Fun with Yours Here,

Happy New Year,

Russ

PS: Gundy, If your reading this; "CONGRATS" on making the BCF Calender!! I feel you should buy all the "FBCC" club members a Calender so We can "All" feel as proud as you do right now!!

I wouldn't call mine in excellent condition. The biggest problem when I bought it was that the right front tire pointed out 10+ degrees while the left pointed straight ahead . The passenger side steering idler had removed itself from the sheetmetal mount. Can you say Mickey Mouse design? It'll soon have a rear-steer rack from some poor fwd donor to lighten things up and clear the drive motor. I's also got a little rust, but nothing serious for a western Washington car.
