Band of Brothers Bill Gaurnere died the other day
90 years young.

Lost two friends in the last two weeks. Both WWII submarine veterans.
One spent 30 years, enlisted, got out as a full Commander.
Second one, in before the war, had several capital ships sunk out from under him (first at Pearl), figured Subs were safer.
Two weeks shy of 98.
 
BB-44, CA-29, SS-189, SS-423
BB-44 was USS California
CA-29 was USS Chicago
SS-189 was USS Saury
SS-423 was USS Torsk which still exists at the Baltimore maritime Museum.
