Gorgeous! And amazing to see the differences in styling - particularly if you consider the design distance between the Citroen and the Bel Air!

Interesting that the Citroen is a mid-1930s design. The others really look more late '40s to me.

Jeez, remember when each marque had an individual "look"? Not today.

As a kid, I remember identifying cars just by their tail lights.

I agree and I agree. Interestingly the Citroen has some of the most modern technology. I find it fascinating these days, I have more than once thought I was looking at a modern Benz only to realize it was a Kia or a Hyundai - makes me wonder why you would pay for the Benz in that scenario? (maybe just swap badges and see who notices)

Take all the badges, (we don't need no stinkin' badges) off a modern car and see how many people can identify it.
That will surprise you, Dave

Just my personal take, but I lost interest in M-B after they "merged" with Chrysler. Seems quality and design went downhill from there. And the relationship didn't end well.

Of course, there are lots of folks who just want to have a new 3 point star in front of them every year or two.

I like your idea of swapping badges today, and see if anyone notices. You sure couldn't do that back in "the day" - the rest of the car gave it recognizable marque features. Today ... well, not so much.

But - they are *efficient*!

Look up John Cadogan from Australia on Youtube and hear what he has to say about the 3-pointed star - and a lot of other cars.

At least 10 years ago,a British car magazine took ten new cars,(all White) & taped over the emblems
on the front.I remember that most people couldn't identify more than three of them, correctly.
