Another Electric Fan Thread-What to Buy?

I need to replace the OEM electric fan & shroud on my 1980 Spit, which is NLA. I'm pretty much locked into a 12" puller, but what to buy? Straight blade or curved? I would think the highest CFM with the lowest amperage draw would be best. What about rpm? And brands-Derale, Flex-A-Lite, Kenlowe, Mr Gasket and on and on? Prices vary as much as $100.

Would appreciate recommendations for a reliable, efficient fan.

Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving!

I can't really answer your question, but be careful about those cfm ratings. A fan's performance in free air doesn't necessarily match what it will do with the restriction of the radiator.

I've been pretty happy with my Hayden, but since it is over 20 years old, I don't know if the new ones would compare.

My opinion, curved blades are usually more efficient (and less noisy), but I can't prove it. And the difference may not be as significant as the motor efficiency.

Measure the radiator and go to a junkyard. I am sure you can find something to fit for a lot less $$$$
